Christian Spirituality in the 21st Century
The postmodern worldview emerged during the 1960s and has come to shape all aspects of culture since, especially in First World countries. Its heightened emphasis on values of tolerance, inclusivity and community life has resonated well with some aspects of the Gospel while introducing tensions with others. This tension often shows up in Christian communities, even to the extent of catalyzing splits in major church denominations. This one-day workshop will help participants reflect on how postmodernity has influenced their own lives, and how it has helped and hindered their living of the Christian message. |

Tracking the Spiritual Journey
What do we mean by “spiritual” development? What kinds of “markers” might we use to track spiritual development? These two questions will be the focus of our one-day workshop. Using a four quadrant approach adapted from the work of Ken Wilber, we will identify lines of growth in personal and communal spiritual development. Times for quiet and reflection will allow participants to chart their own development and to identify opportunities and obstacles to growth. |

“Jesus, Luke, You and Me”
As we begin the Season of Advent, we celebrate a New Year of the Church, the People of God. While we long for the coming of Christ, we will reflect on the person of Luke, whose Gospel we begin, and hopefully come to understand. It is out of our own human experience that we can, like Luke, tell the story of Jesus Christ in our own day so that the coming of Christ enlivens us to new opportunities to be Christ to one another. |
