The painting of the "Visitation" was created by the artist, Mary Southard, CSJ.  (Mary is a member of the Congregation of St. Joseph.)

The picture depicts the story of Mary visiting her cousin Elizabeth. (Luke 1:39-56). In the Scriptures Mary prays the beautiful prayer which we call the Magnificat. Read more about this picture >

In Memory of Sister Helene Lentz, CSJ

Friends and former colleagues of Helene Lentz, CSJ, remember her as a visionary, who approached each of her ministries--educator, hospital administrator, and formation director and president of the congregation--with organization and passion rooted in a strong, vibrant prayer life.

Sister Helene had been director of the Magnificat Center for 2 years and had just established the Spiritual Strengths Cancer Care program when she herself was diagnosed with cancer and died just 4 months later on December 22, 2011.

The 2012 Magnificat Center catalog of programs is one of Sister’s last projects and may be thought of as her gift to you and to those whose lives you will touch because of your attendance. May Sister Helene rest in peace.

All are invited to The Magnificat Center.  Here, sacred relationships are created, strengthened and reconciled with God, the “Dear Neighbor” and all creation.  Here, those who hear God’s invitation and respond, discover an atmosphere of sacred healing for body, mind and spirit.  The Magnificat Center staff welcomes the opportunity to nurture relationships by facilitating programs, offering spiritual direction and hosting various types of retreats.  Religious groups of all faiths are welcome to use our facilities for programs and meetings of your own design.

Time: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm

Presenter: Philip St Romain

The post modern world view emerged during the 1960s and has come to shape all aspects of culture since, especially in First World countries. Its heightened emphasis on values of tolerance, inclusivity and community life has resonated well with some aspects of the Gospel while introducing tensions with others.
